About Daniel J. Goodrich
Dan is a litigator who focuses his practice in all areas of commercial and business litigation including white collar defense and government investigations, complex commercial litigation, construction litigation and appellate representation. He has experience guiding clients through all stages of litigation, from the initial drafting pleadings and briefs for federal and state court cases through trial. Dan represents clients in a variety of litigation matters including breach of contract, defamation and libel, commercial disparagement claims, government contracting, False Claims Act, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. His clients span industries, including government contracting, construction, real estate, health care systems, and hospitals.
Dan regularly represents corporate clients and high-profile individuals in government investigations and enforcement proceedings across a variety of federal and state courts, who are facing various allegations including, wire or mail fraud, corruption claims, insider trading and violations of the CAN-SPAM Act.
In the construction space, Dan represents owners, contractors, and developers in both the public and private sectors in a wide range of construction-related issues including contract disputes, bidding issues, licensing disputes, job problems and delay claims. He has also worked with casinos and gaming organizations on contract claims, navigating state licensing regulations, and challenges in state court.
Dan also maintains an active pro bono practice and has counseled dozens of victims of domestic abuse seeking restraining orders. As part of this work, he handles witness interviews, affidavits, and court appearances on behalf of our clients, who often are in vulnerable or dangerous positions. Dan has been recognized with a Pro Bono Honor Roll Certificate by the Supreme Judicial Court for his pro bono work.
Before joining the firm, Dan practiced in the Boston office at an Am Law 100 firm. Earlier in his legal career, Dan served as a judicial law clerk for Associate Justice Elspeth B. Cypher of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. He also served as a judicial law clerk for Associate Justices Elspeth B. Cypher, Joseph M. Ditkoff, and Mary T. Sullivan of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. Earlier, he was a supervising attorney with the Massachusetts Civil Appeals Clinic, where he assisted more than 170 indigent pro se litigants with a variety of civil legal matters.
