Murphy & King, P.C. Shareholder Charles R. Bennett, Jr. will be inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy on April 1, 2022, in Denver, Colorado. Bennett will be in the College’s 33rd class of Fellows from around the U.S and the globe who are being honored and recognized for their professional excellence and exceptional contributions to the bankruptcy and insolvency practice. The American College of Bankruptcy is an honorary association of bankruptcy and insolvency professionals and plays an important role in sustaining professional excellence in the field.
Mr. Bennett handles complex commercial litigation involving financial institutions, contracts, corporate issues including directors’ and officers’ claims, disputes among members of closed corporations, and insolvency. The current focus of his practice is on rights and remedies for debtors and creditors in corporate Chapter 11 cases. He devotes a substantial amount of time to banking and lending litigation, representing borrowers in commercial disputes. Mr. Bennett has tried numerous jury and jury-waived cases concerning business torts, unfair trade practices, and insolvency issues. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institution, Massachusetts Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association.
